Transport

Malaga is a hub of communications with enormous potential as a pivotal city in economic relations between Europe, the Atlantic area, the whole of the Mediterranean and, in particular, the countries of North Africa. Another reason to visit the Costa del Sol is the new state-of-the-art Airport Terminal T-3, which opened in 2011 and was designed by architect Bruce Fairbanks. Currently there are direct connections to more than 140 cities worldwide, including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Denmark, Poland, Holland, Norway, Sweden, Turkey, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Canada, USA and Morocco, among others. High Speed Train: Madrid-Malaga (2 hours and 15 mins), Barcelona-Malaga (5 hours). This 'huge' advance in communications for the Costa del Sol constitutes a continuous shuttle linking Madrid/Barcelona and Malaga, especially useful for meetings and incentives. Fantastic public transportation is now available to delegates!

Corporate Social Responsibility

Costa del Sol: Sustainable Destination, Responsible Destination

'Costa del Sol, sustainable destination, responsible destination' is a project being carried out by companies and institutions involved in the tourism sector. Led by the Costa del Sol Tourism Board, the objective is to transform and assess the value of the destination’s tourism resources taking into account the criteria of sustainability and social responsibility.

Based on the conviction that treating resources and acting in an environmentally friendly, socially fair and financially viable manner will enable us to position the Costa del Sol as a benchmark destination for new generations, the cornerstone of this project is to 'rediscover ourselves' through our own tourism resources and our own visitors from a more authentic, humane, respectful and responsible perspective.

I thank your organisation, Costa del Sol Convention Bureau, for your efforts organising our fam trip. Everything in Costa del Sol was beautiful and excellent: culture, history, art, cuisine, services and meals and, of course, the Spanish people - friendly and hospitable.

We enjoyed our time very much!

I would consider: Malaga, Fuengirola or Marbella alone or in combination.
I would advise clients to see some of the local history with the lovely food and wine in, for instance, Ronda or Mijas, local activities such as flamenco dancers together with a horse show and even a bullfight if possible. There are quite a few museums.
There are lots of activities to do including 60 golf courses in the surrounding area.

If you are looking for a nice destination for your next event, Costa del Sol is the one. Good and not overpriced hotels, reliable local suppliers, very interesting possibilities of one day trips and activities, sea and beaches, fantastic food... One tip - if you are in Malaga, go to Museo Picasso, take a professional guide, open your eyes and... you will understand Picasso. It really works!
